Geometric Distribution

A discrete probability distribution \(Geom(p)\) having the PMF
\[ p_p(k) = p \times (1-p)^{k-1} \]
that governs the probability that, for independent experiments with a probability of success \(p\), the \(k^\mathrm{th}\) is the first that succeeds, where \(k \geqslant 1\).
